Belize 2012
On February 8th, the eighth grade class of Naples Christian Academy along with several parents and faculty will travel to Belize City, Belize to partner with CALMS and Mirirh's Ministry. Please pray for us as we share Jesus through our songs, skits, service, and our attitudes. "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10

Day Seven
Today was our last full day in Belize and the students have had such a great time. We toured the Mayan ruins called Xunantunich about an hours drive from here. So beautiful. I hope to post some pics here before long. It was an awesome experience. We climbed to the top of the highest temple and had a complete 360 degree panaramic view of the jungle and countryside. We are spending our last evening here relaxing and having fun before packing to come home tomorrow. God has been so good. All are well and have had life changing experiences. Pray for safe travel home for our team tomorrow. We are all tired but it is a good tired, knowing how much God has accomplished through us.

Day Six
We are out at a beautiful camp in the Cayo District of Belize. It is like staying in a zoo except all of the animals are free. Howler monkeys across the creek, parrots and toucans in the tress, and a few horses roam the property. We are blessed to spend the remainder of our trip in such a beautiful place. Today we went to Cayo Christian School to share our program and work. We put new gravel in their outside meeting area and painted benches and tables. It was a tiring but rewarding day. Several students lifted their hands wanting to recieve Jesus. We were expecting elementary and secondary but it was all high school\- 150 students. The NCA students were a little intimidated at first but did a great job. Now we are preparing to roast hotdogs with some kids in a program with YWAM. God is good! We are all well and good. Tomorrow we tour the Mayan ruins

Day Four
Another full day under our belts. Today had lots of variety with face painting, sewing classes, computer classes, and games all for the kids. We also finished our 3 work projects at the center- two concrete slabs and poles for the volley ball net. We closed out the day with a party with the kids complete with hot dogs! We are all having a wonderful time and everyone is healthy. Thank you Lord! Tomorrow, the students are working with some of the Belizian youth and on a church service for the kids. We can't wait to see what they have put together. It's great to see them getting along so well with the kids from the center. After church we are heading out to the Cayo district for the second part of the journey. Hopefully we will have internet access but it might be weak. I'll do my best to keep the blog going. Also, the reason there are no pics of the students doing their program is that we have not been allowed to take pics in the schools. Maybe at our other location. Keep praying!

Day three
Well, day three is in the books and it was a long but rewarding day. We started at 8am this morning and went to two schools to do our program and do craft projects in the classroom. The kids really touched our hearts today at the schools. Our students are doing such a great job and really having an impact on these young lives here. One child through tears told a leader that she was just so blessed that we came to her school and shared with them. The afternoon was spent on two different work projects. The first was painting a house for a young mother of 3 kids and the other was mixing and pouring concrete for an area at Mirirh's Ministry. Once again the kids worked like champs. So very proud of them.
Pray for us tomorrow as we finish work in Belize City and the students plan the church service on Sunday with the youth from the center.

Day two in Belize and the students are having the time of their lives. Today we went to a school and did our program for about 100 children. It was our first time doing the whole program in front of kids here in Belize. It was a great experience. We also began some of the work project today at the center. We are preparing to pour some concrete for the entrance way and build a volleyball area for the kids at the center to play. Of course as always lots of games and loving on kids.
By the way, we are really blessed, the food has been wonderful. Anna our cook is amazing. And to do it all in such a small kitchen.
Please keep praying for us as we have a big day tomorrow. We are going to two schools and then work projects in the afternoon.
Thanks for all your support!

Greetings from Belize!
What a great first day in Belize. After arriving safely and checking into our hotel we were taken about 30 minutes outside of town where we had a picnic lunch and got to go on a nature hike to see howler monkeys in the wild. What an experience! We were able to see the monkeys very close up and get to understand more about the wildlife of Belize. Next it was to downtown Belize City and Mirirh's Ministry for children, where we'll be serving for the first part of our trip. This is an inner city type outreach where children come for food, Bible study, games, and love. We were able to play with all of the children that came today and got an orientation about the ministry from "Aunt Suzzette" who is the founder and an absolutely wonderful lady. Her testimony, and the testimony of some of her volunteers was so very moving. We are all tired and yet so excited for what God has planned for us this week. Tomorrow we go to a school to share songs, skits , and testimonies. Pray for God to annoint the students as they share. Stay tunned!

Belize is a distinct nation in Central America with a coastline featuring the worlds second largest barrier reef, dense tropical forests teaming with wildlife, and it is the only country in the region with English as its official language. The people of Belize are friendly and diverse, gaining their independence from Great Britian in 1981. The ancient Mayan civilization called the land now known as Belize their home and the country is host to some of their ruins, which are reportedly thousands of years old. We are very excited to explore Belize and its culture as we serve and minister to its people. Feel free to keep up with our journey as we post pictures and comments along the way. Each post will also have some prayer ideas as I'm sure you will want to continually lift us up in prayer. We are counting on your support and the Lord's direction. In all we do let Him be praised.
